After completing several forms of self-assessment for a little personal journey, I now have a sense of clarity pertaining to how my personal characteristics blend into my work ethic and how I can develop and grow as both an individual and a professional.
Based on several assessments, I learned that I am an INFJ – a counselor. I strongly believe that this is a highly accurate interpretation of myself and how I interact with the world around me. True to the description, I am quite complex, and I carry an intense aura with me, causing a magnetic effect wherever I go. Upon meeting individuals, my sense of mentorship and nurturing takes over, and I use my intuitive nature to encourage personal development with them in order to help them attain their highest self.
Furthermore, my intensity is revealed in my pursuit of perfection and interpersonal encouragement in all that I do, and my ardent nature manifests itself only when my core beliefs are challenged. These intense traits of mine can be beneficial in the workplace when a leader with intensity and a deep sense of insightfulness is needed. Because of my magnetism and my pursuit of perfection, I believe that a natural connection to people, aspirations to help others reach their full potential, and a strong need to be more and do more, will set a solid foundational example for my peers.
Another set of INFJ characteristics that ring true with me is my acute sense of empathy and connection I have for people and situations. Always striving to bond through harmony and compassion, I have a sense of understanding like no other. Often praised for my innate sense of empathy, I use this to form bonds with others to tie into my counseling nature – I learn about others though intuition and empathy – and foster personal development and growth from within. This is an incredibly useful tool in the workplace, as I would use these skills to encourage each person to do their best, while simultaneously feeling understood and valued. This is critical, as most companies are carried on the backs of their employees – valued employees carry differently than misunderstood and undervalued employees.
Additionally, I know that I am a very open-minded and imaginative person – I prefer questioning norms and expanding on ways to approach the world in a different light and manner. I strongly prefer creative initiatives in lieu of mundane routine, and I am conscientious and disciplined in my pursuit of innovative solutions. I could almost be pinned as a workaholic – as I am very attached to my strong sense of duty to myself and my profession. However, despite my vivacious outlook on life and how it functions, I do prefer working alone, as I am reserved and quiet in my passions. Together, all my characteristics add up to the physical manifestation of empathy, ingenuity and compassion, clothed in intelligence and sensibility.
